03:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GF108GL [Quadro 600] (rev a1)

Nvidia Driver
Code:

anima ~ # equery list nvidia-drivers
 * Searching for nvidia-drivers ...
[IP-] [  ] x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-343.22-r2:0

Xorg.conf
Code:

anima ~ # cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Section "Device"
   Identifier "nvidia"
   Driver      "nvidia"
EndSection

others
Code:

anima ~ # lsmod
Module                  Size  Used by
nvidia              11010194  0
x86_pkg_temp_thermal     4535  0
e1000e                160315  0

I could start X -retro works fine, I could control mouse and move it on screen.

Problems:

From other thread, that said, I can't run glxinfo as root.
Tried user, it complains same error.

Code:
rorocui@anima ~ $ glxinfo

I did two changes, not sure which helps or both.

1. remove the gnome-session branding from package.use.

Code:
gnome-base/gnome-session branding

2. apply the nvidia configuration tool to generate xorg.conf

then that works.

Wow.
