How do i get embedded cover art for media files?

Truth be told I have only ever got this to work in tumbler once and I have no idea what I did, now I get no cover art in any media file be they .mp4 or .mkv - can someone who has got this working in tumbler and thunar help me? I know its purely an aesthetic thing, but it is something I like.

The other files I would like to see previews of are mp3 and PSD files, if I use KDE i can install gwenview and PSD's show a preview, in thunar they do not, is there a way to get PSD and MP3's to show a preview for the PSD and the embedded art for mp3, or is this something that just cant be done atm?
