Unable to play games on vice (c64 emulator) [solved]

Well I got http://csdb.dk/release/?id=125132 , http://www.rgcd.co.uk/2011/12/c64anabalt-c64-2011.html , and http://superbreadbox.com/play.php , but the issue is when I get the game to load no matter what I press it doesn't go past the start screen. I read the manual and set the joystick to both keyset A and numpad, nothing is working either time. If it matters, this is a laptop computer, not sure how that would effect the keys not responding though.

Doing a bit more looking around into this I found the answer to my problem http://atariage.com/forums/topic/187177-vice-c64-emulator-assistance/#entry2362784 . Turns out I had to use joystick port 2. Games are working now
