Hi.
I tried to install fbsplash, but wasn't able to compile, and I am using systemd so Plymouth was a alternative I've not used. I have not yet installed any X11/GUI environment.
After install, I set grub2 'quiet splash'.
My boot sequence:
1. GRUB starts
2. Linux boot with black screen with like 8 Tux penguins on the top
3. After ~5 secs, then it shows scrolling text with Tux penguins on the top (as before 'quiet splash' option in GRUB)
4. After the rest of messages, I noticed it switches to Nouveau as of the resolution goes from 640x480 (or 800x600 or such) to 1920x1080
5. It shows the Plymouth image for a fraction of a second, like 0.2sec
6. Shows regular terminal login screen
I don't want the Tux penguins or any scrolling text. . I just want the Plymouth splash image until it switches to the login screen.
Edit: Yes, I have set rc_interactive="NO" |
