For the google chrome maintainers (Mike Gilbert floppym is in changelog), would it be possible to retain at least one older versions of google-chrome-unstable? in portage?
Recent versions have been buggy but usable, mostly lockups with Flash on my ~amd64. -unstable users know what they're getting, no complaints. However, the most recent www-client/google-chrome-unstable-39.0.2171.2_p1 is crashing frequently on even simpler non-flash pages. At times like these, an older version would be a helpful downgrade.
FWIW, I used to try to maintain multiple chrome channels (stable, beta, unstable), but was unsuccessful keeping profiles in sync. It became easier to just use Firefox as the secondary browser.
Thanks,
Jeff |

They could, but Google removes the old builds from their server the instant a new build is released. The license prohibits mirroring the builds, so there is effectively no legal use for old builds (unless you already have the old files). |

Ah, request withdrawn, in that case. Thanks. |

There is something called local overlay.
Check e.g. gentoo wiki / the search engine of your choice about local overlay / layman ....
just put one of those ebuilds there and keep the distfiles thats it. |
