Hey all,
ould say it me
Yesterday, I setup a samba fileserver on my university's network. Everything seemed to be going great, until I realized that large portions of the network cant see each other through the smb protocol. Basically Im thinking that there is some filtering being done by my university to prevent smb messages from eating up all the network bandwidth.
The question I have is this: is there some way I can force samba to announce itself to the master servers of different subnets on a network? Additionally, is there a way for my samba server to get browsing information from the other subnets without me having to make any changes to the other computer's configuration? _________________ "There are 10 types of people: those that understand binary and those who dont." |
