CORBA error: IDL:omg.org/CORBA/BAD_OPERATION:1.0

I'm starting Galeon under Fluxbox (not Gnome) and getting this error:

Configuration server couldn't be contacted:
CORBA error: IDL:omg.org/CORBA/BAD_OPERATION:1.0

It was working before I closed, relogged in and restarted X. X also seems to be picky about whether I close all my apps by hand before I exit X or just choose "exit" from flux, which closes X. They seem to like being closed manually first to not act funny when I restart them? Any ideas? Particularly they don't save where they are on the screen and Galeon says it crashed if I don't exit it beforehand. This is annoying compared to Windows where a normal shutdown sends close and save signals to all the processes.
