2004.0 release of sparc64 available

Hi All.

In case you've missed the recent annoucements, Gentoo has a new release named 2004.0, which is currently available for sparc64. You can view the SPARC release notes here. An extra special thanks to Gentoo/SPARC developer Gustavo Zacarias (gustavoz) for helping to make this happen.

sparc (aka sparc32) is still in the works and hopefully should be out soon.

is sparc32 going to be available as well? the mirrors just have empty directories.

Eventually yes. We're having some problems building the needed stages right now, so it'll be a bit yet. Once we get that fixed, it will probably be a week or two after that before we have release files and LiveCDs up. For now you can use the 1.4_rc5 LiveCD if you want.
