Ok. I have finished the base install for my network computer and it is taking up too much space on the hard drive. Is there anything that I can unmerge to reclaim space. I haven't even begun to merge the network programs that I would like to use and I only have 300 MB left on the hard drive. I would like to have at least 500 to play with. |

Clean out everything under /var/tmp/portage, if there is any junk in there. You can also remove things in /usr/portage/distfiles, but they'll get downloaded again if you want to upgrade them. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

/usr/portage/distfiles was huge. Do I still need to keep the kernel sources for any reason? |
