Well,
When I want to emerge -u some of the packages on my system two packes are often included in the update:
gentoo-sources-2.4.22-r7 and alsa-driver
I use kernel 2.6.x with alsa in the kernel and i dont want to update those packeges when I emerge others.
e.g. Kde 3.2.1 was just released and if I try to emerge -pu kdeX; gentoo-sources-2.4.22-r7 and alsa-driver are included in the update!
How can I remove these two packages for update world? |

either unmerge them, or remove the entries from your /var/cache/edb/world. |

Thanks, but that didnt seem to help...
what will be installed if i emerge them? just the source or will my system use the kernel that it merge and the new alsa-driver?
Or will it just take some space? ( i can live with that!) |

Remove the 2.4 kernel from '/var/cache/edb/virtuals'. |
