hello. so i just emerged cupsd inserted the printer module and configured my printer, but when i try to print anything (cups testpage, out of gedit or mozilla) nothing happens. that is, a job is sent to the lpq (it's visible with lpq) but the printer doesn't print anything.
the module works fine though, usbview shows that the printer is connected alright and echo "test" > /dev/usb/lp0 works also. cupsd is up and running of course.
i am using a hp deskjet 940c -- that has been working under linux flawlessly.
i followed the gentoo printer guide religiously, thinking there may be a gentoo specific thing that i overlooked, but with the same results.
does anybody have an idea what could be wrong?
thanks!
