I have Gentoo 1.2 running on my machine, with a preempt+xfs kernel, and everything was ok until some days ago, Xmms started behaving strangely.
Even when the system is at 5% load, xmms regularly jumps forward by 0.5secs or so, randomly. re-emerging xmms didn't change anything. I have tried a different kernel; clean 2.4.19+jp-Patch(including preempt&xfs) - same problem.
I have an SB Live 5.1, using the Open Source OSS drivers from creative.
But, as I said, a week ago or so, everything was ok... can't remember that I have changed something important.. All other multimedia apps work great.
Anyone know what could be wrong? _________________ get_user("tiktak")->post_counter++; |

I have had the exact same problem with xmms for a year now, even back when I was using Redhat and SuSE. I never found a solution (hmm..wonder if running XMMS with root privileges would work?)...I started using gqmpeg instead (mpg123). |
