diffutils-2.8.4 update

While attempting an update to diffutils-2.8.4 I got a boatload of ACCESS_VIOLATIONS for '/usr/share/local/*/LC_MESSAGES/diffutils.mo' files...while trying to write/unlink existing ones and create new ones.

Has anyone else experienced this or have any ideas regarding the cause/solution?

I emerged it without problems a few hours ago.

Well, I did another rsync and emerge portage then diffutils again and it worked fine...so it healed itself.
