Hi,

first I have emerged cups, ghostscript, gimp-print-cups. Then I have configured my Canon bjc6200 on /dev/usb/lp0.
Now I can print as root, with 'lpr -Pbjc6200 ...', 'kdeprint -d bjc6200...' and also with the cups-web-interface.

If I try to print as user then lpr & cups-web-interface works fine. Also 'echo "test" > /dev/usb/lp0 is ok. But using kprint will slow the system down and nothing happens.
How to configure printing with cups and kde 3.0.3, so printing as user is possible?

Henning

Hi,

are you sure it is a permission problem? KDEPrint is broken if compiled with the -funroll-loop gcc flag and because of this it segfaults very often. Just a long-shot guess :)
