can you add the modules for sis900 in network? I can't install gentoo 1.4-rc1 because I can't connect to internet... |

I know it's asking you to download a lot more stuff, but if you can boot from a 1.2 CD, you can install 1.4rc1 using the process rojaro describes here. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

I've not seen a network module like sis900 been taken out.
did you modprobe it manually ?
my laptop runs perfectly with it. |

sis900 is what I use, and it's in the standard kernel, so inherently it's in the gentoo kernel also. It's can be compiled as module or into the kernel. |

arkane, what module do you use to bring up the sis900? When I boot from the 1.4rc1 cd, I have no eth0 (just lo) and a sis900 module is nowhere to be found.. at least that was modprobe tells me.. ("modprobe sis900")
So if it is compiled into the kernel, it isnt doing much. |
