Hi, ALL,
I have an incorrect time displayed in GNOME4.

The GNOME Settings panel for the "Date&Time" shows CDT (Chicago) United States. But the time is off by 1 hour and I am currently in Alabama. (so the time zone is correct).

Running "date" in a Terminal shows the same off-by-1hour timestamo.

Did I chose the wrong timezone on install?

Thank you.

Is the problem that your system time is incorrect by one hour, or that your UTC time is correct and that your local time is wrong? Please run date; date -u, then post the results immediately after, so that we can use the forum's clock (which we presume is correct) to check your local clock.

Hi,
Code:

igor@WaylandGnome ~/wxWidgets/buildGTK $ date
Thu Apr 18 11:34:07 AM CDT 2024
igor@WaylandGnome ~/wxWidgets/buildGTK $ date -u
Thu Apr 18 04:34:11 PM UTC 2024
igor@WaylandGnome ~/wxWidgets/buildGTK $

Thank you.

My system clock read Thu Apr 18 14:54:26 UTC 2024 when I made my prior post, which aligns with the shown timestamp on my post. Your post appears to be 58 minutes off. You showed Thu Apr 18 04:34:11 PM UTC 2024, but your post is timestamped 3:46 pm in GMT. The difference between CDT and UTC is currently 5 hours, so I think your timezone is right and your system clock is wrong. Is NTP working properly? Does your system keep time properly across reboots?

Thank you.
