Hey so i cant boot in to my system anymore.
When the computer boots i can see the welcome to grub message for a split second but then it just boots in to the UEFI/BIOS
Not really sure why this has happened. I dont really think i did much yesterday that would make my system unbootable?
Now there are some things that mayhaps have contributed to making it unbootable. These things include
- Updating the entire system (emerge --ask --verbose --update --deep --newuse @world)
- Installing QEMU
- Recompiling my kernel because i had to enable something for qemu (im not sure exactly which one though?)
Some general info:
- init is openrc
- my kernel doesnt have initramfs support built (because i can boot my system without it)
- UEFI
If theres any more commands and info i can run and more info to provide id be happy to. I am right now chrooted in to my system through a live ubuntu usb stick

Blind guess: you might have updated sys-boot/grub-2.06-r9 to sys-boot/grub-2.12-r1 and didn't re-install it + generate config

Thank you! That was probably it. I reinstalled grub and then grub-mkconfig and everything booted fine |
