Last weekend an "emerge --update ..." wanted to pull in a new steam-launcher that now has a pipewire dependency. In addition to reading the Gentoo Wiki entry on pipewire https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/PipeWire/en is there any other documentation I should read? (So far I have been running "emerge --update ... @world --exclude steam-launcher" to keep pipewire away.)

I have an openrc system (not systemd) and have a couple of users (actually me using su - <user>) that use sound. (The only current restriction using PulseAudio is that only one of those users can be running pavucontrol at the same time.) I also exclusively use the digital optical out (SPDIF) from my motherboard.

Any advice or gotchas to avoid would be appreciated.
