hmmm. I am posting this from lynx while booted from the new install CD.
I really like the idea of having an X environment to work in while installing gentoo, so long as I don't lose that great gentoo configurability (invented word?).
I downloaded the cd image not really knowing what the ut in the name stood for. I had missed this news I guess. It was just the newest image so I got it.
I was amazed when I figured out what I was really looking at. Within minutes I was flipping through the config screens of Unreal tournament (demo version). This will be a great way to waste lots of CPU cycles and make my stage one install take forever!

I am probably missing something, but when I tried to "less" the license as it says on the cd's help message.... I can't get it to work. can someone tell me where this document is on the cd? I thought I was following directions, but I could have typo-ed over and over I guess.
I really think it is a cool idea, so long as an image is always available without non-free software. I fear that non-free software may scare away some linux nuts. Of course the license may be free and I just don't know because I haven't found it. I would be surprised if they released the source code for this game however.
anyway, if anyone who was responsible for the new cd is reading this, thanks!

there is a couple of things I wish were added (or maybe I just haven't found them yet):
some way to play an audio cd while I am installing, something simple would be fine, but it would be nice.
a terminal other than xterm.
unless someone can tell me an easy way to inverse the colors... I hate reading black on white for any length of time on a monitor. I am just not familiar with xterm so I don't know if you can do this or not.

anyway, looking forward to the new install being done, so I better get to work, later, uglyman. p.s. sorry for the format, lynx handles this page funnily

I figured out how to change xterm colors.... I know RTFM!!!!
sorry to fill the forums with this kind of garbage... an xterm --help shows it.
so please forget I mentioned needing another terminal. this will be perfect.
