Greetings,
I do not know if this is the correct group, but here goes...
I am attempting an install on a IBM Thinkpad I Series (see above), and have not been able to get ANY kernel revision to work with this system. I would like to get to the point that at least KDE runs on this box. I have been able to get the install kernel working, and get the wireless card up and working, darn thing just wont compile a kernel.
Any Suggestions? (Yep, have read and read and read 2 weeks now working on this one)

What errors do you get when you attempt to compile the kernel, what options are you compiling it with (other than the regular everyday options), and what kernel revision are you trying? |

I'm willing to try to help you if you give more information about your problem. What kernel options are you configuring in that may be problematic? Something that most systems don't have, a laptop specific thing? What does the kernel panic say? What is before the kernel panic, etc. Help me help you. |

Will get more info soon. Work has slowed the project down for a little bit. Thanks _________________ Was Not My Fault This Time... |

Update:
Have gotten the Kernel to compile all the way through, and gotten Grub set up properly. Am now working on file system errors, and the common old problems of getting the Orinoco Card working properly.
Have been reading and reading and reading, and thanks to everyone for the encouraging emails in regards to this setup. _________________ Was Not My Fault This Time... |
