it seems that sometimes in mozilla that parts of text get chopped off half way down the letters but if I highlight the text, the letters appear fully. I'm using kde 3.1, mozilla 1.1 and a nvidia gf3 video card. |

Yup, I saw this too with Mozilla 1.0; I have not yet seen it with Moz 1.1.
An intermittent problem, and one that I tended to ignore.
This is not an anti-alias font problem, but I think is a Mozilla bug:
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87738
So I don't think you're crazy, and I don't think you can fix it. |

I assume by "installing AA fonts" that you mean that you went through the Xft setup etc...? |

I have heard more than once that AA fonts do not fix the problem, so maybe it is a compound issue. As for how I fixed it, I followed the link I posted above regarding 'XFree anti-aliased font tips'. YMMV. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

Yeah, I already tried going through that before I posted. Still having the same problems, even with mozilla 1.0. |

Thanks goes out to larde for pointing this out to me in a private message, when I change the display resolution for fonts in mozilla from system setting to 96dpi all my problems went away. (Edit -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Fonts -> Display resolution). Perhaps someone should make this sticky? |
