I'm going to reinstall whole system during weekend (1.4 RC1)... Is there still problems with 'emerge 3.1 beta1' or should I just install 3.0.3?

Some people (myself included) seem to have had some problems compiling kde-multimedia and kde-pim especially using gcc 3.1.
However, I did a fresh install of Gentoo last week with gcc 3.2 and KDE 3.1 beta compiled fine.
I just unmasked it and did an
I haven't experienced any major problems with it. Seems quite stable for a beta, though konqueror seems to crash more than usual.
As for use variables, I'm sure someone more experienced than I will suggest some. |

I ahve used 3.1 beta since was launched. I had to circumvent a few compile problems and I excluded kdepim from the build.
I don't use konquere much, I prfer Opera, so I can vote for the stability of konquere.
As for stability of the rest? Incredible for a beta. I haven't had 1 KDE related crash and I use it all the time at work for my production.

I have 3.1beta running on gentoo 1.3 (gcc 3.1.1). I had to overcome some compile problems, but I have everything compiled, even kdepim (exepct kdeedu, I didn't try compiling it). _________________ There's someone in my head but it's not me - Pink Floyd |

It works ok here. Gentoo 1.4RC1 with CFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -m3dnow -mmmx -mfpmath=sse"
Code: | # qpkg -I | grep kde
kde-base/arts *
kde-base/kde-env *
kde-base/kdeartwork *
kde-base/kdebase *
kde-base/kdegraphics *
kde-base/kdelibs *
kde-base/kdemultimedia *
kde-base/kdenetwork *
kde-base/kdeutils |
It' s also quite stable except tabs on konqueror
.:: zen ::. |
