is there going to be an apache 2.x ebuild soon? or should i consider writing my own?

i've just installed Gentoo after my rh7.1 server hd crashed. Apache 2.0.36 install from source went flawlessly as did qmail and dss no emerge needed just a little tweaking in /etc/init.d.........BTW running 1 wk now great distro ..................THNX
