mmm.
was there not something like creating a "c:\" somewhere for the setup.exe to look in and install to??? back to the faq's
there is something like a install shield for wine, that installs every game/program in a unique "c:\".
WineX Game Installer 1.1

Sorry I don't have any experience with that card, perhaps you could post the issue and all related information in either the hardware or desktop environment forum.
Try adding this to your XF86Config:
Code: |
Section "DRI"
Mode 0666
EndSection

I looked around and this is the only stuff that came up, maybe if you read through it you could find an answer to your issue. _________________ This message self destructed a long time ago. |

You say you're trying to install something from CD, but your winex config file has the cdrom section commented out?
You should uncomment the cdrom section in your winex config file, and adjust mount point (and device) properly. Otherwise you can't run anything properly from your CD. |

You should start XFree with 16bit colordepth, maybe it runs at 24/32 Bit or 8 bit....
Take a look at your /etc/X11/XF86Config
if you find something like
DefaultDepth 24
or
DefaultDepth 8
change it to
DefaultDepth 16 |

if your use
Code: |
winex -winver win98 -- hl.exe -32bpp
|
You can run it in 32bit colour mode. Make sure your XF86Config is set to 24bit colour default |

winex is transgaming's effort to get directx style games working in linux. however, it seems to focus more on individual games than getting everything to run well (counter-strike still is not working fully). _________________ -Captain Entropy |
