|
|
I just wanted to share a feature here.
I really like gnome as my desktop - but I was somewhat disappointed with not being able to customize some things (or maybe more realistically - not knowing how to customize some things)
And I tried xfce4 - and didn't really like it. - But I really like that you could change the right click menu easily (edit ~/.xfce4/menu.xml) and that you could scroll the mouse wheel on the desktop to change workspaces.
So keeping with gnome - I disabled nautilus to draw the desktop - opened a terminal and did:
xfdesktop &
Restarted gnome so the session manager knew to keep it - and voila - exact same gnome 2.4 as before except now I can swing mouse wheel to change workspaces and I can customize my right click menu.
I thought it was nice so I figure I would share. |

or u can just use openbox instead of metacity as ur window manager
no need to tell nautilus not to draw the desktop mouse wheel will then work...
And u will still have desktop icons _________________ Boo... |
