|
|
Hi there,
The spellcheck function in evolution doesn't seem to work. When I type some rubbish and run a spellcheck I get the message "No misspelled word found". I have installed aspell 3.1.20 and evolution 1.0.8. Do I have to change some settings?
Thx |

i was foolish enough to do 'emerge -c' and spell-check stopped to work in my evolution. (and some other apps like gedit and so on)
I unmerged and merged the evolution but still no luck.
And now, on top of all that, Abiword crashes if i copy any text from the document.
If i highlight the text (and did not use ctrl c ) and try to paste it to gedit for example, just clicking the middle button on my mouse crashes the abiword.
unmerge and emerge abiwor did not help. |

My evolution spell check suddenly stopped working as well. I'm still trying to fix it.
I noticed that the gnome-spell ebuild was updated recently and that the spell dependecies have changed. I have a hunch that the problem has something to do with this change. |

I have spell checking in Evolution, you have to merge the aspell package, an then your aspell-XX (aspell-es for me). Then you have spell check working in Evolution

FIXED! Thank you for your post.
Yes, this was my problem no dictionary.
I had to emerge aspell-en.
I suppose it would be nice if the aspell ebuild emerged the right language dictionary for you. |

Did you unmerge ispell?
emerge -C ispell
You might also have to remerge gnome-spell. |
