I don't use KDE, but searching the forums for 'mcopidl' found a bunch of threads about arts. Can you try emerging arts manually first, and see if that fixes your error? _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

Well I unmerged then remerged the arts-1.0.3 package. After that I emerged KDE-3.0.3.... it failed.
I did get additional info from the compile though. At the end it give this:
!!! ERROR: The ebuild did not complete successfully.
!!! Function econf, Line 9, Exitcode 1
!!! econf failed
Help! |

I had the exact same problem. After a google search I did this
emerge alsa
emerge arts
emerge kde
Kde now installs. (After I start it I have a
blue screen of death but that's another problem...) |

I fixed it!! Wahoo!!
I had not built support for a sound card into my kernel, because I didn't have a sound card in that particular PC. I should have added -alsa USE flag, but overlooked that...... |
