arts and multiple program sound

i have reinstalled after alsa blew up on me...this time i went back to just using the cs46xx kernel driver and arts....is there a way toadd a dsp1 to /dev so that you can have a a little more sound sharing...alsa did give me that but it only worked for a short period then i did something requiring me to recompile and i was unable to get it working after that.

Hi,
apps with arts support doesn't need multiple /dev/dsp*. For all other apps use "artsdsp application" to reroute their sound output to artsd.
