Curious because I cant figure this out. does anyone here know if there is a way to launch netscape mail only rather than launching the browser and then the mail program?
It seems this was a feature with previous apps but not this one.

It seems to me there used to be a 'netscape -m' option. |

Well with mozilla it's "mozilla -mail" so i doubt it's any different with netscape 7.
hmm...running winxp through my vmware i see that the shortcut to mail for netscape is "netscape.exe -mail" so i'm thinking it's probably "netscape -mail" on linux too.
any netscape 7 users out there? _________________ Why are DMB fans so DuMB? |

Well, thanks for the replies. Unfortunately none of the suggestions worked. So maybe they didnt make it seperate which seems odd since mozilla has it seperated. Oh well.

It works for me. I have both NS7 and Moz on my machine, and if I run "netscape -mail" it will launch into the mail app. The only thing I have customized is the netscape launcher script, to include the line -
"MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/usr/local/netscape"
Because I have mozilla installed from an ebuild as well, and that interferes with the startup process of NS7.
Maybe the command line switch works, but launching NS isn't going well.
Hope this helps! |

I would imagine that the comercial build of NS7 would have far better plugin control than moz built with gcc 3.x... I might try that, might make a good backup for galeon. |

Thanks! got it working and it works. I dont have the netscape in my "PATH" so I had to use the full directory command ie /usr/local/netscape/netscape -mail but it worked.
Thanks all for your assistance
