Good day! A few days ago I've got my new laptop HP Pavillion 17-f125nr and i have some troubles and questions 'cause I'm new to AMD. I was using gentoo about 5 years with Intel/NVidia system.
Code:
Linux betelgeuse 3.18.7-gentoo #7 SMP Fri Mar 6 15:29:45 2015 x86_64 AMD A10-5745M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics Authentic AMD GNU/Linux

Video Cards:
Code:
 tuule@betelgeuse /h/tuule $ sudo lspci | grep -i radeon
00:01.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Richland [Radeon HD 8610G]
01:00.0 Display controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Topaz XT [Radeon R7 M260/M265] (rev ff)

So here is the first question: why does it detect discrete card like "Discrete controller" ?

I'm using fglrx driver for now and i've got one problem. Integrated gpu works quite great even in some hard enough games like Borderlands 2 (integrated shows me stable ±55 FPS and that's great I think).
Discrete card in that game running via Steam and under KDE shows only 30-40 FPS. I've figured that while running KDE under discrete card kwin uses 100% of 2 CPU's. After killing kwin situation makes more acceptable, but still integrated card is running better than discrette. So the question is: what should I do with KDE until I find mystic force in me to start using awesome ?
If I'm running the game via startx with no KDE running -- the FPS is just awesome under discrete card, but fgl_glxgears output for discrete is about 500FPS while it's 2000FPS for integrated (WHAT?)

Also, dmesg sometimes shows this message: (why?)
Code:
[ 1730.845202] vgaarb: this pci device is not a vga device

full dmesg: https://bpaste.net/show/d624f2eda17d
xorg.conf: https://bpaste.net/show/960ff4d7162f (generated with aticonfig --initial --adapter=all)
driver's version: 14.12-r3

I've included this all problems into one topic 'cause they could be connected.
Thanks for future help!
