Hello,
I have just installed gentoo on my new laptop, and I am having issues enabling the wifi.
My kernel is generated with genkernel, and I only modified a few thing, crypto and wifi stuff.
Here is my .config : http://sprunge.us/QRDh
The problem I have is that I don't seem to be able to enable my iwlmvm and iwlwifi modules :
Code: | trenzalore ~ # dmesg |grep iwl
[ 17.402234] iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: loaded firmware version 25.15.12.0 op_mode iwlmvm
[ 17.431564] iwlmvm: Unknown symbol dev_coredumpm (err 0)
[ 17.471290] iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: failed to load module iwlmvm (error 256), is dynamic loading enabled?
[ 1199.030626] iwlmvm: Unknown symbol dev_coredumpm (err 0)
|
I get the "Unknown symbol" message when I try to modprobe iwlmvm.
Here is my lspci :

The answer to my problem was dumb : I was booting the wrong kernel.
Sorry for the flood |

How did you get that error by booting the wrong kernel? I ask because I'm getting that error too with 4.3.0 and no matter how many times I rebuild it, I still get the same error. I did do my kernel using oldconfig from a 3.6.6 kernel, so I wonder if I need to start from scratch on it? |
