New better alternative than Gimp?

I know GIMP is a good Photoshop alternative but is there any new software / image editor rather than GIMP. Our company recently switch to using linux. Im used to using Photoshop and Im the only graphic artist for this company so it seems like Im the only one affected by the switch. Excuse my igonorance but I am also adjusting to using Gentoo. The main resaon we switched is for security. We had really important files that were corrupted when a coworker had a malware shared on our network files.

Anyway is there any chance to run Photoshop on Gentoo? I think this is possible.
Would it be any slower?

Take a look at krita. You would need to edit make.conf to tell portage to emerge krita as only part of caligra.

Photoshop CS6 apparently runs under wine, possibly with some limitations (https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=25607).

If all else fails you could install a virtual machine such as VirtualBox or VMware Workstation, install windows and run it from there.

I have fallen in love with Raw Therapee myself, but I mainly touch up real RAW photos from my Digital Rebel. If you're doing other things maybe it isn't right for you.
