Hey guys,
Curious what the word on the street was for KF5 and stability. I know the overlay is there but still want to wait until its ready for the tree. Any one here anything on a date? I have been checking the wiki for updates but it doesn't give me much of a clue as to when it will be ready to actually be used.
Thanks!

Well Arch recently switched over to it and there have been quite a few problems. It's certainly not as stable as KDE4 yet.

While on Arch I used it in November and December. It mostly worked well enough for my purposes but there were more crashes than usual. Now on Gentoo however I decided to stick with stable. I've been impressed with just how stable "Gentoo stable" is on KDE.
Here's a thread were I asked about it a month back in the unsupported forum:

Thanks David. That thread was useful. I will hold off for now. Just getting ants in my pants. Supposedly there are some nice optimizations for 4k and that's something I could take advantage of. |
