Hallo,

heute beim Starten von Gentoo wurde meine .bash_history unter root gelöscht bzw. auf null Einträge gesetzt.
Leider habe ich nach kurzer Suche keine Möglichkeit gefunden wo ich das einstellen kann.
Hat jemand eine Idee wo das festgelegt wird?

Linubie, siehe dir einmal den Wert der Variablen an:

echo $HISTSIZE
echo $HISTFILESIZE

Hi,

danke für den Tipp, beide geben mir den Wert 500 aus und das scheint default zu sein.
Wenn ich die Werte höher setzen möchte, solle ich die beiden Variablen in der /etc/bash/bashrc setzen oder in der /etc/profile?
