|
|
Hello,
I have Xorg-server installed and working, but when I try to install gnome these are the errors that I obtain
Code: |
[blocks B ] sys-fs/udev ("sys-fs/udev" is blocking sys-apps/systemd-216-r2, sys-apps/gentoo-systemd-integration-4)
[blocks B ] sys-apps/gentoo-systemd-integration ("sys-apps/gentoo-systemd-integration" is blocking sys-fs/udev-216)
[blocks B ] sys-apps/systemd ("sys-apps/systemd" is blocking sys-fs/udev-216)
[blocks B ] sys-power/upower ("sys-power/upower" is blocking sys-power/upower-pm-utils-0.9.23-r2)
!!! Multiple package instances within a single package slot have been pulled
!!! into the dependency graph, resulting in a slot conflict:

It may be possible to solve this problem by using package.mask to
prevent one of those packages from being selected. However, it is also
possible that conflicting dependencies exist such that they are
impossible to satisfy simultaneously. If such a conflict exists in
the dependencies of two different packages, then those packages can
not be installed simultaneously. You may want to try a larger value of
the --backtrack option, such as --backtrack=30, in order to see if
that will solve this conflict automatically.
For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man
page or refer to the Gentoo Handbook.

add USE="systemd" in your make.conf file.
This is strange, since the GNOME profile depends on systemd, but the systemd USE flag is not defined...
and if the problem persists, "emerge -C udev", then emerge what you want, but don't reboot until systemd is coming and configured (add the needed init= in your boot parameter) _________________ Kind regards,

or just use the "default/linux/amd64/13.0/desktop/gnome/systemd" profile. |

Try rebuilding openssl with "USE=-bindist emerge --verbose openssl" or add the line
suggested by emerge to your package.use file (and re-emerge).

Topic: Problems trying to install gnome
Post: post 7684368
Reason:
I have added the following lines to package.use
Code: |
=dev-libs/openssl-1.0.2_beta3 -bindist
=dev-libs/openssl-1.0.1k -bindist
|
Now this is the error:
Code: |
!!! Multiple package instances within a single package slot have been pulled
!!! into the dependency graph, resulting in a slot conflict:
dev-libs/openssl:0
(dev-libs/openssl-1.0.1k:0/0::gentoo, installed) pulled in by

>=dev-libs/openssl-0.9.8g:0[-bindist] required by (net-voip/telepathy-gabble-0.18.3:0/0::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge)
^^^^^^^^
It may be possible to solve this problem by using package.mask to
prevent one of those packages from being selected. However, it is also
possible that conflicting dependencies exist such that they are
impossible to satisfy simultaneously. If such a conflict exists in
the dependencies of two different packages, then those packages can
not be installed simultaneously. You may want to try a larger value of
the --backtrack option, such as --backtrack=30, in order to see if
that will solve this conflict automatically.
For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man
page or refer to the Gentoo Handbook.

Thanks in advance |

I'm not an expert but I think you just type dispatch-conf and then press u and just rerun. I gave up on gentoo,
didn't like the emerge packager, installing source-base linux "Source Mage" seems to be alot better, gentoo just didn't
set things up right for me and I have no experience in setting up my own kernel, genkernel didn't set things up right. |

The following USE changes are necessary to proceed:
(see "package.use" in the portage(5) man page for more details)
# required by net-voip/telepathy-gabble-0.18.3[-gnutls]
# required by net-im/telepathy-connection-managers-2-r2[-msn,xmpp]
# required by net-im/empathy-3.12.7
# required by gnome-base/gnome-core-apps-3.12.0
# required by gnome-base/gnome-3.12.0
# required by gnome-base/gnome (argument)
>=dev-libs/openssl-1.0.2_beta3 -bindist
Use --autounmask-write to write changes to config files (honoring
CONFIG_PROTECT). Carefully examine the list of proposed changes,
paying special attention to mask or keyword changes that may expose
experimental or unstable packages.

Ok, telepathy wants one set of USE flags, and openssl wants another. I'd set the -bindist flag on telepathy-gabble,
and if that didn't work just mask it as a temporary hack, since it's not essential like openssl.
Then see how far the next emerge gets.
(Or do what I do, and set the -bindist flag globally in /etc/make.conf)

I think I will try with -bindist flag globally. Is there any differences between -bindist and not use bindist flag?
Thanks. |

Thank you very much, changing to -bindist globally fixed the problem |
