I have a fixed-width ttf font that I prefer to use for fixed-width stuff in my desktop environment, but is it possible to use it in the console as well? If so, how do I go about doing it? |

sys-apps/kmscon - the version in portage is pending deletion but several overlays maintain a current version of it. |

Thanks! I'll have a look at it.
On the subject of overlays, will any of the ones layman knows that also have kmscon be OK, or are any of the overlays considered "better" or more trusted? |

The problem with the kmscon-7 in portage is that it doesn't even compile. By that measure, it's not hard for any of the kmscon-8 ebuilds in layman to be better.
There's also a bug to get version 8 in portage. It's been unfixed for over a year now, but if you'd rather grab an ebuild from a gentoo-reviewed location than a random third-party it's also an option. |

The ebuild needs to use "dev-libs/libtsm" not "sys-apps/libtsm" and there needs to be an ebuild for that dependency too.
Nothing linked to that bug, but I haven't searched or anything. (not in tree for sure.) Just would expect whoever wants it to do that work. |
