Custom mozconfig for Firefox

Hi folks.
I want to pass few custom config options to Firefox but it wont do it via EXTRA_ECONF.
I dont know where to start, how do I pass few strings from here to the actual mozconfig which is using during build ?

Would you be able to use an ebuild hook such as pre_src_configure via /etc/portage/env? That mechanism works quite well for me for the small number of ebuilds that need patching.
