i want to create a folder and have a size limit in it.how do i do that

The easiest route is to use quotas however they're typically done on the file system level. You can create a volume (either a real one or even just use a file) and limit the space like that (there's a good example here). Some file systems like ZFS make this very easy, but if you're using ext3/ext4, the example I linked to should work (only update would be to use ext4 instead of ext3). |

hedmo ... Windows and MacOS has "folders", *nix has "directories". Anyhow, you would use quota's for such things, though these operate on the filesystem, rather than on directory.
