|
|
This has probably been answered already, but the search couldn't find anything. Why is opencdk even in there? opencdk-0.5.1 is listed as a dependancy of gnutils. However, a quick google returns many posts in mailing lists stating that opencdk-0.5.1 will -not- build properly, wait for opencdk-0.5.2. However, some more searching has it appearing that opencdk-0.5.1's ebuild was put into portage on September 02. That makes opencdk-0.5.1 at least three months old. After that kind of a delay, I don't see opencdk-0.5.2 exactly jumping fowards at us. So, I guess my real question is, is there a way to get gnutls with pgp support? Any way at all? _________________ Registered Linux User #263260 |

copy opencdk-0.5.1.ebuild to YOUR_PORTDIR_OVERLAY/app-crypt/opencdk/opencdk-0.5.3.ebuild,
edit the new ebuild and change the source tarball reference from .bz2 to .gz (gnutls.org's ftp doesnt have a bz2 for 0.5.3)
ebuild opencdk-0.5.3.ebuild digest
emerge from there.
i also had to do this process with gnutls-1.0.1. |

I'll jump in here and add that I just had this exact same problem 5 minutes ago. I fixed it in the way you suggested, only to find that gnutls also didn't compile. I ended up renaming the 0.8.12 ebuild to 1.0.4 and downloading the new source which apparently compiles fine despite the rather large version number difference.
Hope this helps someone. |

Does anyone know why, exactly, the latest gnutls in portage is 0.8.12? I just made an updated (1.0.4) ebuild in my portage overlay and am awaiting the results. Hopefully it compiles, unlike 0.8.12. _________________ Now the rainy season reminds me of Maria

My GNUTLS Ebuild
I don't think there will be any problem w/my webhost if I host this file since it's a 3K file... Just uncompress it into your portage overlay dir, which is by default located at /usr/local/portage.
Code: | cp gnutls-1.0.4-ebuild.tar.bz2 /usr/local/portage
tar -jxvf gnutls-1.0.4-ebuild.tar.bz2
cd net-libs/gnutls
ebuild gnutls-1.0.4.ebuild digest
emerge gnutls
|
I think that should work... I also made my own OpenCDK ebuild, if you want me to make it again I will, it's no big deal, but I deleted my portage overlay on accident the other day when the BMG GNOME 2.5 ebuilds wouldn't work and I got frustrated.
EDIT: Fixed yet another typo. _________________ Now the rainy season reminds me of Maria

HI. I've solved my problem with gnutls and opencdk but now I have a problem with libsoup (I'm trying to emerge evolution 1.5.1):

That's the exact same issue I had. It would appear that libsoup needs to be updated to support the new GNUTLS, but the current GNUTLS wouldn't compile at all for me, blocked OpenCDK as well. Quite a predicament, I just decided not to install the Break My Gentoo GNOME 2.5.2 stuff, because the version of Evolution in portage right now compiled cleanly for me, works alright except for a few minor UI issues (The summary page is a little b0rked, but I don't mind 'cuz I don't care about it). _________________ Now the rainy season reminds me of Maria

Downgrade libgcrypt to version 1.1.12 fixed my compile problems with opencdk. I'll report back as soon as I know if this fixes the other problems as well. |

I downgraded libgcrypt to version 1.1.12 and had no more problems with opencdk. All the other packages seemed to have no trouble compiling either. |
