|
|
New installation of Zoneminder 1.27. I have added 2 cameras and I cannot get a stream for either.
It is compiled with the vlc (and also, cUrl) use flag. Everything went together really nice, the web portion displays nicely.
I've tried it both ways, with the ffmpeg source type and also the libvlc. LibAv was built with the network use flag.
Both cameras are ip cameras on an rtsp stream (Foscam 9805e and Dlink 5222L). Both streams work great from my wifes windows box (in vlc).
When it is run with the ffmpeg source type, I get these in /var/log/messages:

It will continue to repeat that.
If I change the source type to libvlc, I get this gem in /var/log/messages.

The log doesn't change until I open up the feed, and I get this:
Quote: | Nov 4 16:30:15 tuxServer zms[2696]: ERR [Terminating, last frame sent time 1415136615.011025 secs more than maximum of 10.000000] |
I can run zma -m 1 at the terminal and this ends up in the log:
Quote: | Nov 4 16:31:27 tuxServer zma_m1[2704]: WAR [Waiting for capture daemon]
Nov 4 16:31:28 tuxServer zma_m1[2704]: WAR [Waiting for capture daemon]

Nov 4 16:31:31 tuxServer zma_m1[2704]: WAR [Waiting for capture daemon] |
If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. Maybe Gentoo was not the right distro for this?
Firmware is up to date on 1 camera, working to update the other.
I see a version 1.28 is out, hopefully it gets updated in portage soon!

This is solved.
For reference, this is what I did to fix this issue.
It was really two issues. First, the Foscam FI9805 required a firmware upgrade (http://foscam.us/firmware).
I set it up with these settings:
Source type: libvlc
width/height: 320x240
This initially didn't do anything, but I found that gentoo builds vlc quite raw, so you need to add some use flags.
edit /usr/portage/package.use with:
Code: | media-video/vlc ffmpeg mpeg live rtsp
www-misc/zoneminder vlc
www-misc/zoneminder curl
media-video/libav network |
when you re-emerge zoneminder, it build the correct packages and zoneminder has worked great since then. |
