I am not running multilib just straight amdx64. Anyone have any idea what the problem is?

you're not alone. I'm having the same problem while updating my system. If you have any solution, please post it here.

This is from libtool 2.4.3. I mask while =sys-devel/libtool-2.4.3.

Finally found a fix!! Add "-crywrap" to package.use and it will build with no problems!

I already had that flag enabled, unfortunately it didn't make a change

upgrading from libtool 2.4.3 to 2.4.4 worked :)
