Hi,
I am trying to configure wireless interface in my machine with NetworkManager -
First, I find out that during the configuration, the line: 'nameserver 8.8.8.8' is deleted from /etc/resolv.conf -
if I add it manually, I can connect to internet but after new booting this line deleted again...
I do not know if it is important but - Should I define BSSID or leave it blank?
I am using static IP, but not dhcpcd.
I understand that wired and wireless interfaces can not work simultaneously in the same subnet -
So I want to configure it that when wired int will be disconnected, the wireless will automatically be connected.
Here is ifconfig output:
Code: | ifconfig

https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/NetworkManager
add nameserver 8.8.8.8 to /etc/resolv.conf.tail or /etc/resolv.conf.head
preferably use a gui nmapplet or kde-misc/plasma-nm or kde-misc/networkmanagement, nmcli if no gui --> keeps you organized
did you add firmware if your nic needs it
networkmanager defaults to wired if connected, wireless if wired is not connected if both are configured
Do not have net.enp2s0, net.wlp3s0, wpa_supplicant, or dhcpcd in any run level _________________ Defund the FCC. |
