|
|
Hello,
I use lat9w-09 console font for years on all my configs (~amd64, ~x86, ~arm) and one ~amd64 machine has that problem:
Code: | consolefont | * Setting console font [lat9w-08] ...
consolefont |setfont: lat9w-08: No such file or directory [ !! ]efont |
consolefont | * ERROR: consolefont failed to start |
I can manually call setfont on the TTYs, the font exists...
I re-emerged kbd and openrc without success, and I don't know where to search.
The configs are similar between a working ~amd64 and this one.
Any help appreciated. _________________ Kind regards,

It's the same problem with a default consolefont file: Quote: | setfont: default8x16: No such file or directory |
Any idea? _________________ Kind regards,

#
# consolefont specifies the default font that you'd like Linux to use on the
# console. You can find a good selection of fonts in /usr/share/consolefonts;
# you shouldn't specify the trailing ".psf.gz", just the font name below.
# To use the default console font, comment out the CONSOLEFONT setting below.
consolefont="default8x16"
# consoletranslation is the charset map file to use. Leave commented to use
# the default one. Have a look in /usr/share/consoletrans for a selection of
# map files you can use.
#consoletranslation="8859-1_to_uni"
# unicodemap is the unicode map file to use. Leave commented to use the
# default one. Have a look in /usr/share/unimaps for a selection of map files
# you can use.
#unicodemap="iso01" |
Also, there is ... Quote: | # eselect fontconfig | Never touched it, no idea what it does.

mine is Code: | consolefont="lat9w-08" |
and working on all configs except this one (it worked before...)
The default one as yours don't work either.
I'm running an emerge -e @system to see if it goes better _________________ Kind regards,

FOUND !
Some day, I runned by error a initrd script, which deployed a lot of busybox links and instances...
I've cleaned /bin, but not /sbin, which contained consolefont links to busybox.
Links removed, it's OK now _________________ Kind regards,
