PostPosted: Tue Aug 26, 2014 10:53 am    Post subject: Not working microphone after pulseaudio emerge Reply with quote

First of all, hello Everyone.

I had working sound and microphone (internal or external - when I plugged it to line-in) on my Dell D830 laptop. I installed pulseaudio by doing full
emerge with enabled +pulseaudio USE flag in make.conf. Now everything works great except microphone (honestly both of them doesn't work).
I have sound in alsa and pulseaudio. Microphone doesn't work in alsa so also doesn't work in pulseaudio (no input profile).

In alsamixer 'Capture' device is set almost to maximum - 80% (this configuration worked just fine before).

What I have tried without luck:
1. Maximizing 'Internal Mic Boost',
2. Enabling BOTH channels on CAPTURE.
3. Enabling ONLY LEFT channel on CAPTURE,
4. Enabling ONLY RIGHT channel on CAPTURE,

Any hints to get this working again?

I'm having similar issues on my Thinkpad T420s. The microphone works sometimes, but randomly stops working. I will try downgrading my kernel to linux-3.12.21-gentoo-r1 and see if it helps.
