Can I prevent certain (or all) USB sticks from appearing in Thunar under "DEVICES"? Sometimes users mount them by clicking on them and it causes problems (potential data alteration, USB bandwidth shortage). I do like to store the USB sticks in the USB hub so I can access them as necessary. |

Well, "appearing" might be hard, "mounting by users other than <foo>" should be just a matter of coming up with correct rule for polkit (as thunar most likely translates to udisks). |

You could use udev rules so the drives' /dev/sd* are set to a specific gid, and then use the "group" fstab option so only people added to that group (i.e. yourself) can mount them. |
