If I put something like
PATH="/home/user/bin"
in let's say
/etc/env.d/00whatever
the resulting PATH is
/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/opt/bin:/home/user/bin
But I want /home/user/bin to override system bindirs,
so what I want is
/home/user/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/opt/bin
Under GNOME it's not sufficient to add
PATH="/home/user/bin:$PATH"
to .bashrc, because I don't want to have
to start applications from gnome-terminal.
How can I add /home/user/bin system wide
in front of PATH? |

Put eg:PATH="/opt/bin:${PATH}" in /etc/profile.
