|
|
I've had a quick look for this information, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I've got two comps running Gentoo. My main one is an XP 1900, and the other a P3 700. I've installed 1.4 on the XP system, but the other is still running 1.2 and I'd like to upgrade it too. Can I use the XP system to compile binaries for the P3? Stuff like X that would take a few hours to compile. I know about --buildpkg for emerge, but how do I pass it the correct optimisations for the P3 instead of the XP? Or is there another way to do it? |

There are many many threads about how to do this with optimizations and all, please search the forums. I understand that the searching capabilities can be frusterating at best, but the information is there. Here is a thread to get you started.
