I'm wondering if someone can help me with installing the driver for my Radeon graphics card. This has happened twice in a row where I get the following error:

The reason I'm posting this in the 'Multimedia' section of the gentoo forum is because I got this error only after installing 'x11-base/xorg-drivers' and 'x11-drivers/radeon-ucode' and setting the 'VIDEO_CARDS' variable in my make.conf to "radeon". Before I did any of this, I emerged @world with the 'update, deep, with-bdeps=y, & newuse' options. After installing the two packages and updating make.conf, I try to emerge @world again with 'changed-use & deep' options and get the above error.
Can anyone help me with this frustrating problem?
(It might help to know that I'm using the Con Kolivas kernel. I didn't have this problem with the standard |
'gentoo-sources'. I don't know if this is related to the issue or not.) |

When when emerge failed it provided some guidance about what to look at, for example: emerge --info build.log build environment emerge -pv output . You can emerge wgetpaste and provide that info by using | Code: | | wgetpaste /path/to/file |
and | Code: | | command | wgetpaste |
and posting the url's returned. emake failed is not a useful comment, it covers too many sins. Hopefully the build.log will specify a more exact error.
