|
|
Hello guys,
Last night I finished the installation of the Gentoo with X, and it's working like a charm!
I want to give a try with Pantheon, but after entering the commands
Code: |
emerge layman
layman -S
layman -a elementary
|
The elementary is found, but when I try to emerge the pantheon or pantheon-shell, it's not found...
I entered all the accept_keywords, package.use and mask as described on the link http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Pantheon,
but the emerge can't find the package
There's some command that I can try to force the emerge of the Pantheon or it don't work with Gentoo anymore?
BTW, I received a conflict glib when installing KDE4, but I managed to leave as is (upgrade needed from 2.38 to 2.40.0-r1).
It's ok to emerge glib with --oneshot? I'll need to recompile world?
Thank you,
Mario |

Hi Mario,

The ebuild for Pantheon 0.2 is in the overlay... Is the initial sync of the elementary overlay ok? I'm actually behind a proxy and cannot try it my self...
the pantheon-base/pantheon is marked as unstable (http://gpo.zugaina.org/pantheon-base/pantheon), have you correctly unmasked it?
You can try search for it using eix (http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Eix) or emerge --search

| Can you please attach the entire error message?
Let me know |

Hello Kikko,
Thanks for your repply
I found that unmerge and emerge the gobject-introspection and emerge --oneshot glib resolved the conflict =D
Unfortunately I can't post the conflict error it gave me unles theres a way I can get the history from the console, but I don't know if it's possible
I read again the pages on the wiki about portage and layman, and the package not found was resolved with the command
Code: |
echo "source /var/lib/layman/make.conf" >> /etc/portage/make.conf
|
So now the Pantheon was found when I try to emerge
Now there's some problems with unmet requirements for media-sound/noise about the ipod use flag
Code: |
gentoo ~ # emerge --ask pantheon-base/pantheon
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:
Calculating dependencies... done!
!!! The ebuild selected to satisfy "media-sound/noise" has unmet requirements.
- media-sound/noise-0.3.0::elementary USE="ipod nls -lastfm -mpris -plugins -upnp" ABI_X86="64"
The following REQUIRED_USE flag constraints are unsatisfied:
ipod? ( plugins )
The above constraints are a subset of the following complete expression:
ipod? ( plugins ) upnp? ( plugins ) lastfm? ( plugins ) mpris? ( plugins )
(dependency required by "pantheon-base/pantheon-0.2::elementary" [ebuild])
(dependency required by "pantheon-base/pantheon" [argument])
|
I'll try to resolve the issue to see what happen next
EDIT: I'm dumb, it's showing that I need the flag plugins for ipod (facepalm) one problem less!
Noob question: I need to put solved on the topic's name or leave the topic as is?
Regards,
Mario |
