Hello,
I'm wondering if chrooting to a 64 bit system from a 32bit is possible and reliable.
I'm trying to finalize a fresh x86_64 gentoo install into a new faster hdd. (read this thread about the problems
I've already got an working x86 gentoo in an old hdd in the same box.
Can I use this 32bit old gentoo system to chroot in the new 64bit gentoo till I get it fixed?
Thanks,

If you started a 64-bits kernel, you can chroot it by entering , but if it was a 32 bit only kernel, this will be impossible. _________________ Kind regards,

painteru,
No. The 32 bit kernel does not know how to support 64 bit code. _________________ Regards,
